Email sent to Registered Racers April 20

Greetings Racers! We are quickly approaching The Savage Adventure Race and are thrilled that you will be a part of it! Before we get to the race though, we’ve got some important information to share:

All the race information, driving directions, parking, gear list, etc. Can be found here: http://goalsara.org/2016-races/the-savage-adventure-races/information-for-racers/ Please read it over carefully. If you can show up on Sunday morning with your waivers already signed, that will help to expedite the check in process for everyone.

Please check your team information for accuracy: http://goalsara.org/2016-races/the-savage-adventure-races/registered-racers/ We have had many racers email and call us with team changes, so we want to make sure that we have your information correct.

We will be basing out of pavilion #4 at Hibernia County Park. We encourage you to come in one team vehicle to help with the parking crunch. There is a large grassy area by the pavilion where you can set up your transition area; feel free to leave gear, food, etc. there. You will have the opportunity to return to that area a few times during the race.

Unless otherwise directed, the mandatory gear you must have with you at all times is: Water, whistle, protective eyewear, map case/map/passport, first aid kit, pen/pencil, cell phone, knife.

You will only need to carry your bike and paddle related items during those  race sections. Unless otherwise directed, all team members remain together, and complete all disciplines as a team.

The morning schedule for the race is as follows:

8:00 am – 9:45 am – Team Check in

9:00 am –  Mini Introduction to Adventure Racing Clinic for those new to the sport
10:00 am - Team meeting/race briefing

We are also in need of a few more helping hands to make this event a success. We welcome friends and enemies, family members or neighbors. High school students could earn community service hours for their volunteer time with us (we are non-profit AND the event benefits the American Cancer Society).

Please let us know if you have someone who can volunteer for the day. All volunteers receive a t shirt, goodie bag, lunch, and our eternal gratitude. Plus, you could earn 20% off your next GOALS race if you have someone volunteer on your behalf!

Thanks! We will send a final email a few days before the race.  Happy Adventuring!
