EMAIL SENT TO REGISTERED RACERS 10-4-16
Greetings Racers!
We are quickly approaching The Edge Adventure Race and are thrilled that you will be a part of it! Before we get to the race though, we’ve got some important
information to share:
All the race information, driving directions, parking, gear list, etc. Can be found here: http://goalsara.org/2016-races/edge-adventure-races/info-for-racers/
Please read it over carefully. If you can show up on Sunday morning with your waivers already signed, that will help to expedite the check in process for everyone. We have a short window to check people in, and over 125 people racingJ
Please check your team information for accuracy:
http://goalsara.org/2016-races/edge-adventure-races/registered-racers/
We have had many racers email and call us with team changes, so we want to make sure that we have your information correct. All information needs to be finalized by Tuesday October 13th.
Please note the following times for race day registration and start of the race:
7:30am-9:00am Race Check in
8:40 am Quick Introduction to Adventure Racing Briefing for those new to the sport
9:10 Team Meeting
10:00 Race Start for both 3 & 6 hour races
Paddling gear: We will supply paddles and PFD’s for you. However, teams are welcome to bring their own paddles and pfd’s if they choose. We will transport them to the paddling section for you. We will only transport paddles, pfd’s and canoe seats….nothing else. It is important that you bag up/tie up all your paddling gear and put your team name on it. Teams will be using canoes, and solo racers will use single person kayaks.
Transition area: There will be one central transition area. However, it is not located at the same area that you are registering and you are parking. Make sure your vehicles are secured. GOALS ARA will not be monitoring the parking lot, so please do not leave your race “stuff” outside of your vehicles. Be prepared to carry everything you need for race day with you all day (with exception of paddling gear noted above). Once you see the maps it will all make sense. Any questions or clarifications on this will be addressed at the team meeting before the race.
Happy Adventuring!
