TEAM GOALS ARA

Team GOALS ARA is a group of experienced ultra endurance racers from a variety of backgrounds. Over the past several years, our combined experiences include over 60 adventure races 24 hours or longer in length, marathons, ultra running events, triathlons, Ironman events as well as numerous traditional road and mountain bike races, running and orienteering events.

 

Our team is composed of Bruce Wong, Jonathan Neely, Jeremy Kuhlen, Keith Woebeser, Sue Rheingold, Alizabeth Bronsdon, Brent Freeland, Abigail Perkiss, Tracey Robertson and Chris Bartges. We are professionals who work full time and compete at the highest level of our sport.

 

Team members have been to over 20 expedition adventure races including: Primal Quest Expedition- Tahoe, San Juan Island and Moab, Eco Challenge North American Championships, Appalachian Extreme, Raid the North, Raid the North Extreme New Foundland and Yukon, Endorphin Fix (E-Fix), PHEAR, North Georgia Adventure Race, US Adventure Racing Association 24 hour National Championships, Beast of the East Expedition, Adventure Racing World Championships Scotland, and XPD Australia.

 

On June 21, 2008 our team will travel to Montana's Big Sky Country for the Primal Quest Expedition Adventure Race. This race with feature mountain biking, trekking, navigation, whitewater paddling, whitewater river board swimming, climbing and ropes, with elevation gains of over 100,000 feet. Primal Quest is the World's Most Difficult Human Endurance Competition, a 10 day expedition adventure race. 	Jeremy Kuhlen Lives in Richmond , VA with wife Dana and son Jake -VP/Sales - Wealthcare Capital Management -Adventure racing since 1999 -Started mountain biking in college and then started out mountain bike racing. From there he moved on to 24hr mountain bike races, then got into adventure racing in 1999 and has done many large events including the Primal Quest 2006.
	Keith Woebeser - Lives in Conshohocken, PA - Manager and Physical Therapist for Pain Relief and Physical Therapy; background in sports at National level in speed skating and rowing for over 15 years - Started doing Marathons, Ultras and Triathlons 8 years ago including 7 Ironman finishes and multiple Marathons finishes with a PR of 2:54. - Began Adventure Racing in 2006
	Susan Rheingold -Lives in Philadelphia -Pediatric Oncologist, The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia - Started doing marathons in 1998 and triathlons on 1999. In June of 2006 made the mistake of drinking some beers with some of these adventure racers at a multisport club meeting and next thing you know I am riding single track in the dark, learning to rappel, swimming in 40 degree weather, and doing races that make an Ironman look short. - 13 marathons, including Boston x 4. 	Abigail Perkiss -Lives in Philadelphia , PA with teammate (and husband) Brent -Temple University School of Law -Currently a doctoral candidate in US History at Temple University -After 10 years as a competitive swimmer, started running marathons in 2006 and competing in triathlons in 2007. Volunteered at her first adventure race, NYARA's 12-hour Longest Day, in June 2007 and laughed when the director told her that she'd be there as a participant the following year. New to adventure racing as of October 2007. -Highlights thus far include: 1st place divisional finishes in GOALS ARA 2007 Edge sprint race and 2008 Savage sprint race; 3rd place, coed-3, 2008 Yough Extreme 12-hour race; 2008 Longest Day; and learning to rappel off of the garage roof.
	Chris Bartges -Lives in Wilmington DE -Treasurer Leon N. Weiner & Associates, Inc. -Adventure Racing since 1997, started doing road races, duathlons and triathlons in 1994, have completed several marathons and half-ironmans but most success and enjoyment have come in Adventure Racing -Recent Adventure Racing highlights include: 1st in Div. - 2006 Savage; 2nd in Div. - 2006 Krista Griesacker; 1st in Div. - 2006 Wildlands Challenge; 2nd Overall - 2006 Mega Dose; 2nd in Div. - 2007 Savage; 3rd in Div. - 2008 Yough Extreme (qualified for USARA Nationals).
